SPL December Art Exhibit
The Stoneham Public Library announced that it will host an exhibit by portrait artist Lori Del Genis during December.
The exhibit showcases the artist’s rendition of an array of subjects. The portraits include literary and theatrical figures as well as other subjects. The artist will also feature pets.
“We love to look at faces, from the very beginning of our lives,” said Del Genis. “What we see can comfort and inspire us.”
Del Genis said she is self-taught and continues to learn, and that her work aims to capture on paper “the emotions and expressions of faces we love, especially faces that are no longer with us. I understood my mission when a grieving mother told me that when she looked at the portrait I’d created of her late son, it felt like he was always with her. I knew then that I’d done what I’d set out to do.”
